        Hi.
We have been approached about a website for a Cottage Letting agency. We don’t need search but this demo looks ideal.
However it got us thinking about promoting this type of website, as many out there (not the big names, but independents) have rubbish websites.

The issue is, the search. you can enter the dropdown, but when you click search and says “thanks your message has been sent”…. should that not then show the results of the… search?

Our idea was maybe to get a copy of Porto on a subdomain, so we can use certain demos to add “demos” on our website, but this search issue.. is a bit of a problem.

        Any ideas?

            Hello, @79design-support,

We hope this message finds you well. We wanted to address a specific feature in the PORTO WordPress theme that you have been using and provide a solution to help you achieve the desired functionality for your property search needs.

We understand that the dummy form provided in the theme’s demo does not include built-in search functionality for retrieving property results. However, we are here to assist you in customizing the form to meet your specific requirements.

To enable property search functionality, there are two viable options we recommend:

            1. Utilizing a Third-Party Plugin:

            2. There are numerous WordPress plugins available that specialize in enhancing search functionality for various purposes. We recommend exploring reputable search plugins, such as “Advanced Custom Fields,” “FacetWP,” or “Search & Filter,” to seamlessly integrate a robust search feature into your website. These plugins offer a wide range of options to customize and configure the search form according to your preferences.

            3. Customizing the Form:

            4. If you prefer a tailored solution, our team of experienced developers can assist you in customizing the existing form to accommodate property search functionality. By analyzing your specific requirements and leveraging our expertise, we can modify the form to connect with your property database or any other data source you may have. This customization will enable visitors to search for properties based on their desired criteria, providing them with an enhanced user experience.

To help us understand your specific needs and assist you promptly, please provide us with more details about your requirements. This will allow us to offer you the most effective solution and ensure a smooth implementation process.
We value your satisfaction and are committed to providing you with exceptional support throughout this customization journey. Our team of experts is dedicated to assisting you in achieving the functionality you envision for your property search.

Thank you for choosing the PORTO WordPress theme. We look forward to working closely with you to enhance your website and provide your visitors with an exceptional property search experience.

                Thanks for the reply.
So bottom line: you are showing a search feature on a demo that doesn’t work, and would cost more money…. to make work.

If I may add – would it not be better to not show a search form at all?

Id’ strongly suggest you enable something in the Search options, so that this Search Form, searches. Else it is slightly mis-leading. :(

                Simon
