November 21, 2025 at 12:52 pm #41509Hello, @ianlea,
First of all, you have to create a block: https://postimg.cc/21Xszpc1 and set the image element into it with dynamic values.
After that, navigate to Porto >> Page Layouts >> Content Top and choose that block from there: https://postimg.cc/PNRVpbbJ
After that apply the condition to show on the Product Category pages: https://postimg.cc/zyJhq6Lt
This is how it works.

I actually prefer using block and inserting so it is full width but it is quick to just add directly into the category page using Category Image insert image
thank you.November 22, 2025 at 7:37 am #41564Hello @ianlea,
You’re very welcome!
Yes, in the latest Porto versions, the recommended method for displaying the product category image in a full-width layout is through a custom block with dynamic content, as this provides more flexibility and consistency with the theme’s layout builder. Some older setups may still display the WooCommerce category image by default, which is why your previous sites didn’t require this step.
If you prefer the block method, that’s perfectly fine—it’s the more powerful and customizable approach.
Should you need help configuring either method or want us to match the output to your other sites, just let us know—we’re happy to assist.
Best Regards,
