Hello, @everyone,
In the PORTO WordPress theme, showcasing category descriptions on category pages requires utilizing two integral theme features: Template Builder and Page Layouts. Delving into the process step by step, let’s explore how to effectively implement this feature.
1. Firstly, navigate to the Dashboard, then proceed to Porto, Template Builder, Blocks, and select Add New. Create a new block specifically for the category description, tailor the content to your requirements, and remember to save the block. Refer to the screenshot below for a clearer understanding.
After creating the block within the template builder, the next step is to integrate it into the category page. To do so, navigate to Dashboard, Porto, Page Layouts. Within this section, locate the “Content Top” and “Content Inner Top” fields. Select the appropriate field and assign the previously created block to it. Additionally, specify the block conditions to determine the pages where you want it displayed. Once done, revisit the page after clearing the browser cache to see the changes take effect.

Aizaz from PThemes.June 4, 2024 at 7:16 am #7537I want to fetch the Category Description set in Products > Categories and display that in each of the Category pages. Instead of building a separate block for each category. How do I do that?
June 4, 2024 at 8:29 am #7539Hello, @villeruti,
If you do not want to use the block and want to show the Category description directly when adding to the Product Category, then you should create a Custom Layout for your Product Category.
Please navigate to Porto >> Template Builder >> Product Archives and create the new template there, then you can import the pre-built layout using Porto Studio: https://postimg.cc/JyTSbnM9
After that, you should use the “Archive Description” element at any place where you want to show the description: https://postimg.cc/McFqztMM
And then set the condition to apply that layout to your site product categories pages: https://postimg.cc/NKtzrTqN & https://postimg.cc/Sn8YH2np
Finally publish that layout.
And then the Description you will set from the backend of the product category page will show on the product category pages adapting the layout you created: https://postimg.cc/SnFxYmrS
I hope this clarifies everything.
Best Regards,
PThemes Team. -
