How We Evaluated These Enterprise DAM Platforms
We scored each platform on seven criteria. Enterprise scale and rights management carried the most weight, since both get harder to fix after rollout.
- Enterprise scale: support for large libraries, many teams and several regions.
- Configurability: how far metadata, permissions and workflows can differ by team.
- Rights management: tracking licenses, expirations and territories on the asset itself.
- AI and automation: tagging, search and workflow automation built into the product.
- Integrations and API access: published APIs, SDKs and named connectors.
- Governance and security: published security attestations and permission controls.
- Independent recognition: placement in named analyst reports.
Vendor details came from each company’s own website and were checked in October 2026. Prices appear only where a vendor publishes them.
1. Orange Logic: Best for Large Organizations With Complex Rights and Workflows
Quick summary: Orange Logic is an enterprise DAM and content orchestration platform for organizations with large libraries and strict usage rules.
Orange Logic was founded in 1998 and is based in Irvine, California, per the company’s site. The platform combines digital asset management, media asset management, rights management, project management and AI agents in one configurable system.
Customers shown on orangelogic.com include National Geographic, Lionsgate, Pearson, GSK and the United Nations. Per its homepage, more than 90% of Orange Logic customers migrated after a previous DAM failed to scale. The same page says more than 98% of customers remain with the company.
Orange Logic was named a Leader in The Forrester Wave: Digital Asset Management Systems, 2026. Gartner also recognized Orange Logic as a Leader in its 2025 Magic Quadrant for Digital Asset Management.
Key features:
- Digital rights management: custom rights types for music, talent, stock and photography, with expiration, embargo and territory rules.
- Rights-aware downloads: assets with rights attached go through approval before download, and custom watermarks can carry names and dates.
- Configurable workflows: task assignments, approvals and publishing run inside the platform, alongside project management.
- AI search and tagging: natural language search, auto-tagging and facial recognition for images and video.
- Hybrid storage: cloud and on-premise storage can run side by side, and Media Bridge connects on-premise media to the cloud platform.
Pricing: Custom pricing (not published). The Orange Logic homepage says the platform has “no rigid tiers.”
Who should choose Orange Logic:
- Enterprises with large volumes of licensed, talent-bound or embargoed content
- Organizations that need each team configured differently inside one system
- Teams replacing a DAM that stopped scaling
Limitations: Orange Logic doesn’t publish pricing, so a cost comparison needs a sales conversation.
2. Acquia DAM: Best for Global Brands That Run Asset Portals
Quick summary: Acquia DAM is Acquia’s enterprise DAM, built on Widen technology and aimed at global brands with large teams.
Acquia DAM runs what it calls asset intelligence at upload, which covers auto-tagging, alt text and duplicate detection. Its portals and microsites fill themselves with approved assets, so partners and regional teams pull current files on their own.
Acquia publishes its plan tiers by scale instead of price. Per its pricing page, Workgroup covers 50 users and 1 TB, and Mid-Market covers 500 users and 5 TB. The Enterprise tier offers unlimited users with 10 TB of storage.
Key features:
- Natural language search across the library
- Auto-tagging, alt text and duplicate detection at upload
- Self-filling portals and microsites for approved assets
- ISO 27001 listed on its security page
Pricing: Custom pricing. Tiers are listed by users and storage, with no prices shown.
Who should choose Acquia DAM:
- Global brands that share assets with many partners and regions
- Teams that want portals to stay current without manual updates
Limitations: Each tier includes a set amount of storage, topping out at 10 TB on Enterprise. Video-heavy libraries should confirm how extra storage is priced.
3. Frontify: Best for Brand Teams That Pair a DAM With Living Guidelines
Quick summary: Frontify combines a DAM with a brand guidelines product, so approved files and brand rules sit in the same system.
Frontify’s DAM offers AI auto-tagging and search by image, keyword or natural language. Reviewers can leave timestamped comments on video and annotate PDFs during approvals.
Per its brand guidelines page, a rule change updates everywhere the guidelines appear. Frontify serves global brand teams, plus sales, HR, agencies and regional marketers.
Key features:
- AI auto-tagging with image, keyword and natural language search
- Timestamped video comments and PDF annotation for approvals
- Brand guidelines that update across every page when a rule changes
- ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II listed on its security page
Pricing: Not published. Frontify’s pricing page describes a model based on monthly active users.
Who should choose Frontify:
- Brand teams that own guidelines as well as the asset library

Limitations: Frontify’s site leads with brand content and guidelines. Organizations with heavy rights obligations on video should test rights tracking during evaluation.
4. MediaValet: Best for Organizations That Want Unlimited Users
Quick summary: MediaValet is a cloud DAM, headquartered in Vancouver and Menlo Park, sold on custom quotes that include unlimited users.
MediaValet offers AI tagging, branded Experience Portals and CDN linking that shares an asset anywhere through one link. Named integrations include Canva, Contentful, SharePoint, Akeneo, Okta and Wrike.

5. SitecoreAI DAM: Best for Multi-Brand Enterprises With Regional Governance
Quick summary: SitecoreAI DAM is the DAM from Sitecore, still called Sitecore Content Hub DAM for existing customers.
SitecoreAI DAM offers AI auto-tagging and visual search inside images and video. Per its product page, visual search comes with no usage limits.
Rights and license-expiry management are built into the product. Sitecore aims the DAM at enterprises with multiple brands, regional governance, agency access and regulated content.
Key features:
- AI auto-tagging on upload

- Rights and license-expiry tracking
- Governance controls for agency and regional access
Pricing: Not published.
Who should choose SitecoreAI DAM:
- Enterprises managing several brands under central governance
- Organizations already running other Sitecore products

6. Cloudinary Assets: Best for Developer-Led Teams That Deliver Media at Scale
Quick summary: Cloudinary Assets is the API-first DAM from Cloudinary, which also sells image and video delivery APIs.
Cloudinary Assets generates image variants for each device and channel, with automatic cropping. A Taxonomy Agent tags assets and adds metadata, and a Workflow Agent handles review, rights and expiration.
Cloudinary says the DAM ships with more than 25 SDKs. The product serves developers alongside marketing, e-commerce and enterprise IT teams.
Key features:
- Dynamic image variants with automatic cropping
- Taxonomy Agent for tagging and metadata
- Workflow Agent for review, rights, expiration and syncing
- More than 25 SDKs for developers

Who should choose Cloudinary Assets:
- Engineering-led teams that build media delivery into their own products
- E-commerce teams publishing large numbers of product images
Limitations: Cloudinary’s public plan prices cover its image and video APIs, and the DAM is priced separately. Buyers comparing quotes should keep the two apart.

How to Choose Enterprise DAM Software
Rank rights tracking above AI tagging. Auto-tagging saves search time, but an expired talent license on a published ad creates legal exposure. Orange Logic, SitecoreAI DAM and Tenovos all track rights on the asset.
Count users the way they’ll show up. Per-user and capped tiers penalize organizations where hundreds of people download a few files a month. MediaValet and Acquia’s Enterprise tier both remove user caps.
Match the platform to the team that owns it. Developer-led teams get more from Cloudinary’s SDKs. Brand teams get more from Frontify’s guidelines product.
Test with the hardest files. Load the largest and oddest formats during the trial, then search for them the way a regional marketer would.
Ask for the security report itself. A badge on a security page is a starting point. Request the current SOC 2 report or ISO certificate and check which product it covers.
