The Event post type in the Porto theme allows you to showcase upcoming or past events with detailed information such as event dates, time, location, and custom links. It’s ideal for businesses, organizations, or communities that host conferences, webinars, performances, or other scheduled activities.
Note: You can enable or disable Porto’s built-in Event type directly from the theme options
- Go to Porto → Theme Options in your WordPress dashboard.
- You’ll find dedicated sections for Porto → Theme Options → Event
- Toggle the Event Content Type option.
- Click Save Changes.
1. Name & Slug
Define the Event Title and its slug (URL).
- Name: The main title that appears on the event listing and detail pages.
- Slug: The unique part of the event’s URL. It’s automatically generated from the title but can be customized as needed.
2. Featured Image
Upload a featured image representing the event.
This image will appear in event grids, widgets, and single event pages, helping to visually attract attention.
3. Content Area
Use the content editor to describe the event in detail.
You can include information such as the event overview, schedule, speakers, sponsors, or registration details.
Supports Elementor and WPBakery editors for flexible design options.
4. Event Options
This section provides all the key configuration settings that define the event’s schedule and related details:
- Event Link: Add a direct URL where users can learn more about or register for the event (external or internal).
- Event Start Date: Specify the date when the event begins.
- Event End Date: Specify the date when the event concludes.
- Event Start Time: Define the starting time of the event.
- Event End Time: Define the ending time of the event.
- Event Location: Enter the venue name or address where the event takes place. This can also include virtual event links.
- Event Time Counter: Enable a countdown timer that appears on the event page, dynamically counting down to the event’s start time.
These options make it easy to create professional, informative event listings with precise scheduling details.
5. Excerpt
Add a short summary or highlight about the event.
This excerpt may appear in event archive pages, sliders, or widgets to provide a quick overview of the event.
6. Porto AI Engine
Use Porto’s AI Engine to automatically generate content, summaries, or SEO descriptions for your portfolio projects using intelligent content suggestions.
9. Publish
Manage the visibility, status, and publishing date of your portfolio post. You can publish immediately, schedule for a future date, or save as a draft.
