FAQ

The FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) post type in the Porto theme allows you to create, organize, and display question-and-answer sections across your website in a structured and visually consistent way. It is ideal for support pages, help centers, product detail pages, and knowledge bases.

Porto provides a dedicated FAQ post type that makes it simple to manage multiple FAQs using categories and layout options — all without requiring any coding knowledge.

You can access it by navigating to Dashboard → FAQs in your WordPress admin area.

Note: You can enable or disable Porto’s built-in FAQ type directly from the theme options

  1. Go to Porto → Theme Options in your WordPress dashboard.
  2. You’ll find dedicated sections for Porto → Theme Options → FAQ
  3. Toggle the FAQ Content Type option.
  4. Click Save Changes.
1. Name & Slug
  • Name: The title of your FAQ entry — typically written as a question (e.g., “How can I track my order?”).
  • Slug: The URL-friendly version of your FAQ title. It appears in the address bar (e.g., yourdomain.com/faq/how-can-i-track-my-order/ ).
    You can customize the slug in the Permalink section to make it concise and search engine friendly.
2. FAQ Categories

Porto’s FAQ type supports hierarchical categories for better organization.

  • Categories help group related FAQs (e.g., “Shipping”, “Billing”, “Returns”).
  • These categories are used to display grouped FAQ sections on your front end — for example, in toggle or accordion layouts.
    You can add or assign categories directly within the FAQ editor or manage them under FAQs → FAQ Categories.
3. Content Area

The Content Area is where you write the answer to your question.
You can use the default WordPress editor, WPBakery, or Elementor (depending on your configuration) to design the answer layout.

  • Rich text formatting (bold, lists, links)
  • Embedded media such as images or videos
  • Shortcodes for custom styling or additional content

The content entered here will be shown when users expand the FAQ item on your website.

4. Porto AI Engine

The Porto AI Engine feature (available in compatible Porto versions) assists in automatically generating or improving FAQ content.
You can use it to:

  • You can generate the descriptions and meta infos easily, correctly and in details with AI engine after input AI key in Porto > Theme Options > General > ChatGPT AI Generator page.
  • Suggest improved phrasing or structure for your answers.
  • Automatically generate FAQs from key product or service information.
    This built-in AI support helps speed up content creation while maintaining accuracy and consistency across your FAQ pages.
5. Publish Settings

Located in the Publish panel on the right side of the editor, this section lets you:

  • Save Drafts before publishing live.
  • Preview the FAQ entry.
  • Set Visibility to public, private, or password-protected.
  • Schedule a future publish date if desired.
  • Publish or Move to Trash your FAQ post when necessary.

Once published, the FAQ can be displayed using the Porto FAQ Element, or as part of a FAQ block or page layout created in the Templates Builder.
