How to create sidebar

How can we create sidebar in porto? Porto suggests the set of sidebar areas covering the majority of a site needs providing in Appearance > Sidebars

1. Sidebar Registration

Porto includes several default sidebar areas: Blog Sidebar, Homepage Sidebar, Secondary Sidebar, Shop Sidebar (WooCommerce Category Sidebar), Shop Horizontal (for horizontal filters), and Single Product Sidebar (WooCommerce Product Sidebar).

In addition to the provided sidebars, you can create new sidebar through the Appearance > Sidebars
Once you create sidebar, it will appear in the list under Appearance > Widgets

2. Sidebar Editing

The latest WordPress update presents existing widget areas in a single column format. To add a widget, open the desired widget area, click the “+” icon, and enter the widget title to locate and insert it. Widget addition now operates seamlessly within the Gutenberg editor.

3. Sidebar Allocation

If you want to display sidebar in posts pages, you should set page layout containing “sidebar” string in its name.
You can set page layouts in several pages of Porto > Theme Options

Global Sidebar

Porto > Theme Options > Layout page
Here, you can set full site’s page layout. Once you select the layout containing “sidebar” string in its name, you can see select box of sidebar.
Using this, you can select sidebars of Appearance > Widgets page.

Blog & Post Archive Sidebar

Porto > Theme Options > Post > Blog & Post Archives
You can set blog & post archive page’s layout here. Once you set sidebar layouts, you can see Appearance > Widgets > Blog Sidebar in blog & post archive page.
If you set “both sidebars” layout, Appearance > Widgets > Secondary Sidebar will be displayed in the sidebar content.

Single Post Sidebar

Porto > Theme Options > Post > Single Post
You can set single post page’s layout here. Once you set sidebar layouts, you can see Appearance > Widgets > Blog Sidebar in single post page.
If you set “both sidebars” layout, Appearance > Widgets > Secondary Sidebar will be displayed in the sidebar content.

Portfolio Archive Sidebar

Porto > Theme Options > Portfolio > Portfolio Archives
For this, you should first enable portfolio content type in Porto > Theme Options > Portfolio page.
You can set portfolio archive page’s layout here. Once you set sidebar layouts, you can see select box of sidebar.
Using this, you can select sidebars of Appearance > Widgets page.

Single Portfolio Sidebar
