The Member post type in the Porto theme is designed to showcase your team members, staff, or collaborators in a professional and visually appealing format. It allows you to display detailed personal information, social profiles, and related works or products, helping visitors connect with the people behind your brand or organization.
Note: You can enable or disable Porto’s built-in Member type directly from the theme options
- Go to Porto → Theme Options in your WordPress dashboard.
- You’ll find dedicated sections for Porto → Theme Options → Member
- Toggle the Member Content Type option.
- Click Save Changes.
1. Name & Slug
Define the name of the team member and the slug (URL) for their individual profile page.
- Name: The full display name that appears on the front end.
- Slug: The unique part of the member’s URL, typically generated automatically but can be customized.
2. Member Categories
Assign your team member to one or more Member Categories (for example, “Design Team,” “Marketing,” or “Management”).
These categories help organize members and control how they appear in filtered or grouped layouts.
3. Featured Image
Upload a featured image representing the member’s profile picture.
This image will appear in team grids, sliders, and the single member profile page.
4. Content Area
Use the content editor to add detailed information or a biography for the member.
You can include text, images, videos, or even shortcodes for a rich presentation.
Supports both Elementor and WPBakery editors.
5. Member Options
The Member Options section provides detailed configuration fields to define a member’s personal and professional information.
Here’s what each option does:
- First Name / Last Name: Enter the team member’s first and last name separately for structured display.
- Role: Specify the member’s role or position (e.g., “Creative Director,” “Lead Developer”).
- Overview: Add a short summary or introduction about the member’s background or expertise.
- Portfolio IDs: Link portfolio items associated with this member (enter the Portfolio post IDs).
- Product IDs: Associate WooCommerce products (if applicable) by entering their IDs.
- Post IDs: Link related blog posts by specifying their IDs.
- Slideshow Type: Choose the slideshow display type if multiple images or media items are used.
- Member Link: Add a direct URL to an external or internal page related to this member (for example, a personal site).
- Email: Provide the member’s professional contact email address.
- Phone: Enter the member’s contact number.
- Social Links:
Add links to the member’s social media profiles. Supported platforms include:
- Google+ (legacy)
- VK
- Tumblr
- Vimeo
These fields make it easy to display clickable social icons on the member’s profile card.
6. Excerpt
Add a short bio or highlight that summarizes the member’s key role or expertise.
This excerpt may appear on member grids, widgets, or team listing pages.
7. Porto View Options
Customize the layout and appearance of the member profile.
You can select set visibility of Page title and edit page subtitle.
8. Porto AI Engine
Use Porto’s AI Engine to automatically generate content, summaries, or SEO descriptions for your portfolio projects using intelligent content suggestions.
9. Publish
Manage the visibility, status, and publishing date of your portfolio post. You can publish immediately, schedule for a future date, or save as a draft.
