Before you start working with the Porto Post Type Builder, you need to enable it in the Porto Speed Optimize Wizard and make sure no plugin disables Gutenberg. The builder relies on the Gutenberg editor, so if a plugin forces the Classic Editor or Disable Gutenberg, the Post Type Blocks will not appear. As a result, the builder will not load correctly.
This guide explains the settings you must configure before using the Post Type Builder.
1. Enable Post Type Builder in Speed Optimize Wizard
To activate the Post Type Builder:
- Go to Porto → Speed Optimize Wizard
- Open the Other Minify Options tab
- Under Disable Unused Template Builders, make sure Post Type is unchecked
This ensures the necessary scripts and dynamic block features are loaded. If this option is disabled, many Post Type Builder elements will not appear inside the Gutenberg editor.

2. Make Sure No Plugin Disables Gutenberg
The Post Type Builder works only with Gutenberg.
If any plugin disables Gutenberg, replaces it with the Classic Editor, or blocks Gutenberg for specific post types, the builder will not work correctly.
Common plugins that disable or replace Gutenberg
- Classic Editor (forces the old editor)
- Disable Gutenberg
These plugins should be deactivated or configured so they do not disable Gutenberg for post types where you need the Post Type Builder.
