When transferring your website to a new domain, license deactivation on the old domain is essential to prevent activation issues. Here’s a step-by-step guide to deactivate and reactivate your Porto theme license, enabling you to update it on the new domain:
- Deactivate the License on the Old Domain
- On your old domain, navigate to Porto > Setup Wizard > Activation.
- Click Deactivate to release the license.
- Reactivate on the New Domain
- On your new domain, go to Porto > Setup Wizard > Activation.
- Reactivate your theme license here to bind it to the new domain.
- Update the Theme
- After reactivating, try updating the theme through Appearance > Themes or Dashboard > Updates.
- Alternatively, you can perform a manual update if needed by downloading the latest version of the theme and uploading it via FTP or the WordPress dashboard.
Following these steps will allow the Porto theme to authenticate and update correctly on your new domain.
2. Plugin Update Failed
The Porto theme includes embedded plugins: WPBakery Page Builder, Revolution Slider, and Porto Functionality. If you encounter issues updating these plugins, follow these steps:
- Deactivate and Reactivate Your Purchase Code
Navigate to Setup Wizard > Activation page and deactivate and then reactivate your purchase code. - Manual Update (if issues persist)If reactivating your purchase code does not resolve the issue, you will need to update the plugins manually:
- Go to Plugins in your WordPress dashboard.
- Select the plugins you wish to update and click on Deactivate.
- After deactivation, select the plugins again and click on Delete.
- Reinstall the Plugins
- Navigate to Appearance > Install Plugins.
- Select the plugins you just deleted and click Install.
- Once installed, select the plugins again and click Activate.
