Keeping your WordPress site updated is essential for optimal performance, security, and access to the latest features. The Porto theme comes equipped with powerful premium plugins, including Visual Composer Page Builder and Revolution Slider, which enhance your site’s functionality and design. In this guide, we will walk you through the process to update plugins, including these premium options, as well as other essential plugins within your WordPress dashboard. Whether you're managing updates through the Setup Wizard or performing manual updates, our step-by-step instructions will ensure a smooth and efficient process for updating plugins.

- Updating Premium Plugins

The Porto theme includes two premium plugins: Visual Composer Page Builder and Revolution Slider. You can update these plugins using either the setup wizard or by navigating to Appearance > Install Plugins.

- Updating Other Plugins

Similar to WordPress itself, you can update your other plugins with just one click. Follow these steps:

  1. Access the Updates Section
    Go to the Updates section in your WordPress admin panel.
  2. Check for Plugin Updates
    If there are any plugins that require updates, they will be listed here. This section also indicates whether a new version of WordPress is available.
  3. Update Plugins
    To update your plugins, select the ones you want to update and click the Update Plugins button. You will be redirected to a progress page that shows the status of the updates, similar to the WordPress update process.
  4. Alternative Update Method
    You can also update plugin from the Installed Plugins section in the Dashboard. If an update is available, a notification will appear below the plugin, along with a link to update it automatically. Additionally, you can select multiple plugins and choose the Bulk Update option at the bottom of the plugins list.

Important!

The Porto theme includes embedded plugins: WPBakery Page Builder, Revolution Slider, and Porto Functionality. If you encounter issues updating these plugins, follow these steps:

  1. Deactivate and Reactivate Your Purchase Code
    Navigate to Setup Wizard > Activation page and deactivate and then reactivate your purchase code.
  2. Manual Update (if issues persist)
    If reactivating your purchase code does not resolve the issue, you will need to update the plugins manually:

    • Go to Plugins in your WordPress dashboard.
    • Select the plugins you wish to update and click on Deactivate.
    • After deactivation, select the plugins again and click on Delete.
  3. Reinstall the Plugins
    • Navigate to Appearance > Install Plugins.
    • Select the plugins you just deleted and click Install.
    • Once installed, select the plugins again and click Activate.
